my possible entry for the latest Little White Lies brief. I don’t think fits well enough with either the film or the house style, but I’ve got a week to decide.
I’ve been working for ages on blending graphic elements with a more painterly style, and I feel that halftone is really working for me here.
While I’m at uploading things I’ve done, I’ve just finished this poster, for HAND’s American Beer festival.
The finished painting for one of a few images I’ve been thinking about doing for “A Portrait of Dorian Grey”, I’ll upload the graphic version when it’s done!
It’s long been a source or irritation to me that I couldn’t convert the way that I draw and paint satisfactorally into a screen printing format, so this image has come as a bit of a surprise to me, I’ve really enjoyed drawing it, and I can’t wait to print it.
I found the idea of this ‘all american boy scout in space’ figure pretty funny, one who ran around with a clear cut sense of right and wrong, zapping baddies and shouting the pledge of space alliegence all against a very 50’s backdrop. I’d like to come back to this at some point, I think there’s room for a story.
